Greg "G-Bomb" Elbaum survived a rocky start to pitch 6 innings and pick up the win versus the Fainting Goats in the Wednesday game at Herlihy.
The Goats, who last week upset the Isotopes, were eyeing their second straight improbable victory by knocking off the league leaders. They scored 4 runs before their first out, thanks to a booming bases-loaded double by Todd Neumann that plated 3. The first inning ended with the Goats threatening with the bases loaded.
But Elbaum, making his first start in more than a month after an injury, settled down to pen in the Goats before they could really run wild.

In the bottom of the first and down 4-0, the Plugs began to climb out of the hole they found themselves in. Eddie Esposito of the Goats retired the first two batters he faced before Jeff Whitehead singled. Esposito then walked the next 2 batter to load the bases. Steve Wall lined a single to score Whitehead and Jon Adolph smacked a shot to center field that cleared the bases and tie the game.

In the bottom of the third Esposito loaded the bases and successive shots by Morris Partee, Steve Wall and Jon Adolph scored 3 runs. A sac fly by Nolan Ayana made it 8-4.

Elbaum bounced back and retired the Goats 1-2-3 in the 2nd and 3rd innings and held the Goats in check until faltering in the 6th and giving up 2 to make it 8-6.

The Plugs added two more in the bottom of the 6th to make it 10-6, and the Goats managed an unearned run off Jeff Whitehead in the top of the 7th.

Jon Adolph was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI. He also had two clutch catches in centerfield. Steve Wall was 2 for 3 with 3 runs and 1 RBI, and Eric "Noodles" Bennett was 3 for 3

Phillies - 5
Wonders - 6

WP: Nabil Hannoush, LP: Max Strubel

One week after suffering a walk-off loss to the Grays, the ageless Wonders™ did the same to the Phillies, scoring 3 runs in the 7th to snatch the victory.

Trailing 5-2 in the 6th, the Wonders scored 1 in the 6th to make it 5-3, and then completed the comeback in the bottom of the 7th. The win was a true walk off, as the winning run scored on a bases loaded walk to end it.

Nabil Hannoush pitched a complete game to get the win. Miracle Max Strubel took the loss, nullifying a good start by Ken "GDIK" Sloat who went 4 and left with a lead.

The Wonders were aided by Supersub Stu "The Commish" Clark who launched a ball into the stratosphere for a double.

Isotopes - 6
Dorian Grays - 1

WP: Gary Webber.

Gary Webber did Gary Webber things and yada yada ya as the Isotopes bested the Grays 6-1.

Kevin McElhinney of the Isotopes made two running grabs in the outfield to save at least 3 runs.

With the win, the 'Topes remain one game back of the Plug Uglies for the regular season crown.
