Phils 12
Dorian Grays 8
WP: Max Strubel, LP: Mike Whately.
The Phils, 0-5 in the regular season, are 1-0 in the post-season after a solid thrashing Saturday of the defending league champions, the 2-3 Dorian Grays.
Don't let the final score fool you. A 4-spot by the Grays in the 9th made this one closer than it would seem, but it was all Phils all day. They broke out to a 5-0 lead after 2 and never let up off the accelerator until the 27th out.
The Grays narrowed the score to 5-2 but that would be as close they ever got.
Miracle Max Strubel put in a vintage performance, changing speeds, throwing strikes, and going all 9 innings for the complete-game win.
The Phils next move on to face the Wonders under the lights Thursday at Spec Pond in Wilbraham.
Round 2 continues Sunday at Whalley Field in Southwick with the Fainting Goats taking on the Plug Uglies.
