Week 2 action: Plugs, Grays up & Phils and Wonders down; Photos by Big League Stu

In Week 2 action, the Plug Uglies defeated the Philles 7-3 on Wednesday, while the Dorian Grays defeated the Wonderboys by a near identical score of 7-2 on Thursday.

The win by the Plugs is their first of the year. The Dorian Grays are the only undefeated team so far in the season. (Word out of Miami is that former Dolphins coach Don Shula is already getting irritable with the nursing home staff because people are daring to compare another team with his undefeated '72 Dolphins.)

Chris Ciepiela of the Wonderboys went 7 innings in the loss. The Grays were hanging on by a one-run margin, 3-2 before they busted it wide open with 4 in the 9th.

Next Week:

Wednesday, 5:45 p.m. -- Wonderboys at Phillies
Thursday , 5:45 p.m. -- Dorian Grays @ Plug Uglies.

Note: we are at the overlap period of the season where high school ball is still going on. Herlihy Field is also the home field for the Frontier Regional JV team. They play at 3:30 or 4 p.m. Either way, there is a chance they may be on the field sometime after 5 p.m. some days. If so, be cool. They will wrap up by 5:45 - 6 p.m. and we can take the field thereafter. Stretch out as best you can on the sidelines or in the soccer field. Again, be patient and polite. Few things are quite as unbecoming as adults having a temper tantrum in front of children.

This week's photos come by way of "Big League" Stu Clark of the Dorian Grays. Great shots, Stu.
